The CO2 laser beam vaporizes the outer layers of the skin and erases fine lines and wrinkles. It is particularly useful in correcting the creases that radiate at right angles from the lips. These creases cause lipstick to "bleed." The procedure is performed painlessly under local anesthesia. Post-laser crusting and swelling subsides in 7-10 days.
